Phytoplankton assemblages were clustered into associations according to functional taxonomic (diatoms, dinoflagellates and coccolithophores) and “ataxonomic” unimodal (nanoplankton, microplankton and macroplankton) size‐based criteria. Scaling relations of species richness‐cell size were performed in terms of histogram and log‐transformed data analyses for both taxonomic and ataxonomic groups. Frequency distribution histograms were fitted to a negative power function, which was strongly unimodal and right skewed and invariant across taxonomic and ataxonomic units. Regression analyses of the log‐transformed data were fitted to negative linear curves, which had common patterns and they were independent of taxonomic or ataxonomic affiliation. Species carbon biomass–cell size spectra produced by log transformation of the relevant data yielded positive slopes for both taxonomic and ataxonomic groups. In contrast, comparisons of the relative cell abundance, cell volume and carbon biomass levels showed large differences among these variables across taxonomic and ataxonomic groups. This work demonstrates that phytoplankton taxonomic and ataxonomic functional group relationships should be considered when developing future models of phytoplankton community structure.  相似文献

Toxic and non-toxic Microcystis sp. are morphologically indistinguishable cyanobacteria that are increasingly posing health problems in fresh water systems by producing odours and/or toxins. Toxic Microcystis sp. produces toxicologically stable water soluble toxic compounds called microcystins (MCs) that have been associated with cases of aquatic life and wildlife poisoning and kills including some cases of human illnesses/deaths around the world. Thus, the need for rapid detection of toxic Microcystis sp. in surface water is imperatively a necessity for early mitigation purposes. Genomic DNA from potentially toxic Microcystis sp. comprises of ten microcystin synthetase (mcy) genes of which six major ones are directly involved in MCs biosynthesis. In Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) methodsmcy genes can be amplified from intracellular/extracellular genomic DNA using PCR primers. However, little is known about the limitations of sourcing genomic DNA templates from extracellular DNA dissolved in water. In this work, filtered water (0.45 μM) from a Microcystis infested Dam (South Africa) was re-filtered on 0.22 μM syringe filters followed by genomic DNA isolation and purification from micro-filtrates (9 mL). Six major mcy genes (mcyABCDEG) from the isolated DNA were amplified using newly designed as well as existing primers identified from literature. PCR products were separated by gel electrophoresis and visualized after staining with ethidium bromide. The limitation of using dissolved DNA for amplification of mcy genes was qualitatively studied by establishing the relationship between input DNA concentrations (10.0–0.001 ng/μL) and the formation of respective PCR products. The amplification of mcyA gene using new primers with as little as 0.001 ng/μL of DNA was possible. Other mcy gene sensitivities reached 0.1 ng/μL DNA dilution limits. These results demonstrated that with appropriately optimized PCR conditions the method can provide accurate cost-effective tools for rapid detection of toxic Microcystis sp. in water giving early information for water quality monitoring against MC producing cyanobacteria.  相似文献

This study presents findings of the first systematic analysis of aquatic biotic assemblages in the source region of the Yellow and Yangtze Rivers. It provides an initial basis with which to select representative organisms as indicators to assess the aquatic ecological status of rivers in this region. Macroinvertebrates are considered to be good indicators of long-term environmental changes due to their restricted range and persistence over time. Field investigations of macroinvertebrates were conducted in August 2009 in the source region of the Yellow River, and in July 2010 in the source region of the Yangtze River. Altogether 68 taxa of macroinvertebrates belonging to 29 families and 59 genera were identified. Among them were 8 annelids, 5 mollusks, 54 arthropods and 1 other animal. In the source region of the Yellow River, taxa number, density and biomass of macroinvertebrates were 50, 329 individuals m2 and 0.3966 g dry weight m2, respectively. Equivalent figures for the source region of the Yangtze River were 29, 59 individuals m2 and 0.0307 g dry weight m-2. The lower benthic animal resources in the source region of the Yangtze River are ascribed to higher altitude, higher sediment concentration and wetland degradation. Preliminary findings of this exploratory study indicate that hydroelectric power stations had a weak impact on benthic dwellers but wetland degradation caused by a series of human activities had a catastrophic impact on survival of macroinvertebrates. Ecological protection measures such as conservative grazing and vegetation management are required to minimize grassland degradation and desertification, and reduce soil erosion rate and river sediment discharge.  相似文献

The locational requirements are not identical; the symbolic approach deals with idealistic spatial status while the functional approach poses realistic locational demands. 研究了球界面下卫星测高问题的解法,利用有限逼近方法得到了下列结论:若陆地部分是球冠,则卫星测高问题的解可以转换成关于球谐级数位系数的线性方程组,并且位系数的阶和次是以分离形式出现的,从而确保该解法具有实用意义. 利用重力场360阶模型进行模拟计算的结果表明:该解法得到的位系数的相对精度达到了10-11. 同时证明了常用的Stokes问题、Dirichlet问题、Neumann问题可以看成卫星测高问题的特殊情况.  相似文献

在鳗弧菌侵染下,利用SMART方法构建了青蛤的cDNA文库,并采用高通量测序方法和BLASTX比对筛选出ESTs及免疫相关因子的基因.结果表明,所构建的cDNA文库的库容量为1.12×106,插入片段均在500bp以上;大于100bp的有效ESTs序列1113条,平均长度725bp,拼接后获得一致性序列420条,其中包括126个叠联群和294个单拷贝EST,BLASTX比对后获得注释序列271条,进一步筛选获得青蛤免疫相关因子基因序列45条,为克隆其免疫防御相关因子的基因提供了重要的基础.  相似文献

本研究基于10′×10′空间分辨率运用GIS软件对中国植被分布地理配准数字化,提取获得196个优势植物的地理分布数据以及内插相关的气候因子,运用分位数函数计算获得各个植物地理分布的气候阈值;   在此基础上采用生物气候群组(BAGs)的分类方法,对196个优势植物气候因子数据进行聚类分析,同时结合中国植被的地理分布特征,最后划分出29个BAG组,包括13个乔木组(6个常绿阔叶和2个落叶阔叶群组,4个常绿针叶和1个落叶针叶群组)、10个灌木组(5个常绿灌木和5个落叶灌木群组)和6个草本组。本研究的BAGs划分是建立在较高空间分辨率和定量气候因子阈值的基础上,因此,通过计算获得BAGs气候阈值(包括每日温度变化幅度、地表霜冻频率、月均温度、月降雨量、相对湿度、日照时数和>5℃年积温等),运用生物圈碳循环CARAIB模型,模拟出中国19个生物群区的现代潜在分布。模拟结果较好地表达了中国植被类型的地理分布,尤其较详细地展示了热带、亚热带、温带和高原地区的不同植被类型地理分布格局,但由于东北地区、西部草原以及热带原生植被受人类活动严重干扰,使得模拟结果比该地区的原生植被地理分布的实际面积偏大。总体而言,本研究获得的29个生物气候群组对模拟现代生物群区分布提供了理想的分类依据,其气候阈值也是进行过去和未来生物群区模拟的重要参照数据。  相似文献
